large vintage furoshiki

this is a very large (170cm x 170cm) dark blue, 100% cotton furoshiki. 

what is a furoshiki? a furoshiki is a piece of square fabric used for storage, covering things, giving gifts, wrapping your lunch in, etc. its the fabric version of origami - the uses are almost endless! this size of furoshiki is most often used for covering things, or keeping large items free of dust such as in storage. 

how do we use them in patckwork? a furoshiki can be used as regular fabric, or it could be used whole to make a large quilt, or to back a quilt. i have used furoshiki of this size to make pants! 

note: this is a new vintage product and thus will have signs of age, wear, etc.
