this is my first collar ever. it has been such a joy creating this small piece. it's my first collar i'm keeping the price point low, feel free to select the payment tier that fits your financial situation.
this project has taken me around 10 hours to complete. i hope to make more collars in the future, perhaps smaller or more sculptural. we'll see!
the entire collar is upcycled besides the sashiko thread and black cotton thread. the entire outer of the collar is antique / vintage japanese textiles.

artists statement:
matsuri means festival. i called it matsuri because the whole time making this i envisioned festivals, but also because the flags at the bottom remind me of the hanging flags of a festival. the bottom flag part (the triangles) was inspired by a quilt my great grandma made that was bordered. by flags just like these.
